I learned this personally, when interviewing someone it is always best to tape record the conversation. This way you can focus more on the questions you have for the person, instead of trying to write every word that the person says. Also if you are more in tune with the conversation, you are able to find more questions from their responses. And you have the whole conversation to go back to, so you do not misquote anything that the person has said.
