In choosing to be an English major, I was aware of the reality behind what life after college was going to be like. It's something we all realize; there aren't many jobs available to us with an undergraduate degree. In deciding on a minor to accompany my major, I wanted to find something that would make me slightly more marketable in finding a job while I'm working on getting my Master's degree.
It's a struggle, though, to find a minor that I actually like that isn't as broad a study as English. Journalism? No longer interested. Math? I would be miserable. Any of the natural sciences? The least interesting of all possible minors in our undergraduate catalogue.
It's terrible that I can't find anything that interests me enough to pursue it other than English. It looks like I'm now going to try out some of the political sciences. Psychology, maybe? Sociology? We'll see what works.
